Good stuff, But I seriously don't understand why you removed the swastikas. The Germans have to get past their history and can't be offended every time they see a Nazi symbol.
THIS LOOKS SO AWESOME! I am going to download this very very soon. I understand why you removed the swastikas, it kind of punches the Germans in the face and blames them for what happend in that war. Sure, the German vehicles would look more realistic with a Swastika, but a lot of people would be offended, and peoples emotions are more important then a simple game.
My gradfather died as a Nazi in WW2 defending Germany. Even though Hitler plunged the world into war and was a evil person. The Nazi soldiers who fought for Germany still deserve some respect. (the good ones do atleast!):cheers
Not to be rude, but I wouldn't be proud saying you grandfather was a nazi. There was a huge difference being a nazi and a german during WWII. Not all Germans were Nazi's, which was a political affiliation. Many opposed to them, but adhered to the regime due to dire consequences for anyone who was against them, yes even their own people. Big difference between a german soldier in say the wermacht and a soldier in say the SS. German soldiers fought for their country, while a nazi fought for hitler and his political beliefs. Not to turn this into a political debate. Unless he really was a nazi, then I have no sorrow for him. And I have german heritage.
At least make a proper comparison. I wouldn't compare a regular infantryman to a special operations operative. The same way, I wouldn't compare a regular Wehrmacht Soldier to an SS trooper who was bred, raised, and brainwashed to protect a corrupt regime.
The Nazi government as a whole was not bad. It was the people behind it that gave it a bad rep. So to say that Nazi's are bad is incorrect. Just as an example:
Americans believe that Communism is the anti-christ, yet would you call Chinese people evil? A regime is a regime, it doesn't determine an individuals morality.
The reason the law is in existence is because of the Allies occupation and wanting to squelch any type of rebellion or uprising from existing Nazi regime sympathizers. It's an old law that really needs to be removed. Germans shouldn't be afraid or ashamed of their history, they need to be aware and not repeat history.
wow, man, a really great mod for a beta
