Just played it in SP (at night) ... and damn, this mission is huge.
Took me over 90 minutes to finish (with 100+ kills and just 1 loss of AI - but with countless retries it really took a whole day ^_^ ).
In MP this must be a blast - however, I would not want to "rush" that map, there is really quite some AI (and hardware)
But with MP I guess one can easily half (or third) the needed time, because micro-management of AI took *some* time and I also enjoyed the luxury of doing some reconnaissence (e.g. in the AH-6).
There are all possible unit-types available - SpecOps, sniper, medic and the AT-guys - so every soldier can pick his preferred choice.
- The enemies react great and realistic.
- the basics are done (it is not understood): every person ist playable, (every person has a binocular and a nightvision).
- you have a huge number of ammo, so you never run out of ammo.
Unfortunately, no m9 (without silencer) in the ammobox.
If the objectives are done (take out shilka, retake the town etc.) then it should be better that you can finish. It is stupid, that you must search like an idiot for some 1 or 2 enemies, who are resting somewhere in the underwood.
Enemies stand still at one place for hours, days, weeks(?). Thats bullshit and not realistic. Why not a script that the enemies patrol an area or the enemies changes after 2 hours?
Tanks run out of fuel if the campaign takes several hours. Thats not realistic because there are several petrol stations. Why not a script, that tanks/vehicles drive/refuel at a petrol station after 4 hours?
Great mission, but like Dennis said isnt too realistic. In my missions, for example, (The "ARS" series) I try and make it realistic as possible, give em a play and try to incorporate some of those finer elements in your missions. Fun for us all. =]
